Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) recently announced that in July 2008, they will ask the Public Service Commission for permission to pass the increasing price of fuel on to its customers. If the commission approves this request, Florida Power & Light customers will see the increase on their August electricity bills. Residential customers could face an increase of 16% and commercial customers could see an increase of 24% on their monthly electric bills.
